Craig Patton Named Acting Assistant Principal of W.A. Day

Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Craig Patton has been named Acting Assistant Principal of W.A. Day Elementary School in Fort Macleod, beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.

Craig holds Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees from the University of Lethbridge. He has spent all but half a year of his 38-year teaching career with Livingstone Range School Division and currently teaches physical education at W.A. Day Elementary School.

Principal Nick Beer looks forward to Craig's contributions to school administration. "I am excited to have Craig join me on the admin team at W.A. Day," says Nick. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team as well as an enthusiasm for seeing kids succeed."

Craig is excited to continue his work with the W.A. Day students and staff as Acting Assistant Principal. "I feel incredibly blessed at this stage of my career to work with the school in this capacity," says Craig. "I look forward to working with Nick and learning from his leadership style. I feel fortunate to be able to continue teaching PE and organizing the Celebrations of Sport in our Division for students in the elementary grades."

Married to his wife JoAnn for 17 years, Craig is the father to 4 adult children and grandfather to 12 grandkids. He has coached volleyball for 30 years and rugby for 40 years, and his boys rugby team recently captured the ASAA Silver Medal for the second year. Craig enjoys camping with JoAnn, reading, relaxing at the family cabin, watching the Blue Jays, and cheering on his grandchildren in sports, singing, and performing in their school's Rock Band.

Congratulations to Craig on this new role.
